1. Make your food pretty

Remember, we eat with our eyes first. If your food smells good and looks good, it signals to your brain that it'll likely taste good too! Even if you are only cooking for yourself, make your food look delicious and aesthetically pleasing (as if you are about to photograph it).

2. Have fun with it

Put on some fun music, dance around your kitchen, make cooking a family affair. Don't take it so seriously - have fun with it!

3. Host a dinner

Invite your friends over for a healthy meal. Find some fun new recipes and create a menu. Encourage them to help you with preparation. Everything is more fun with friends! (Bonus points for a themed dinner party and menu).

4. Try something new

Find a new food from the grocery store or try a new healthy recipe. What's the worst that could happen? If you don't like it, now you know and you can try something different next time.

Tip: When buying packaged foods, always remember to read labels and look for an option with the cleanest ingredients. Many labels will have health food terms on the front but hide unhealthy ingredients in the product.

5. Go to the farmer's market

With summer quickly approaching, more farmer's markets are starting to open up. This is a great way to find out what fruits and vegetables are in season, support local farms/businesses, and enjoy the process of buying produce.

6. Keep your meals vibrant and fresh

A colorful variety of vegetables and fruits on your plate will make it more visually appealing and offer a better variety of nutrients for your body.

Tip: Adding fresh herbs, seeds/nuts, and spices for extra vibrance and flavor.

7. Try different food preparations

There are plenty of different ways to prepare foods - get creative and switch it up! Try steaming, roasting, sautéing, broiling, grilling, stir-frying, slow cooking, or air frying.

8. Get an accountability buddy

Find a family member or friend who will commit to healthier eating with you. Schedule daily or weekly check-ins with each other and create fun challenges to keep you going!
